I first heard this song over 25 yrs ago. It has always been a favorite. It is so hauntingly beautiful. Yet is seems to give me a feeling of hope and peace. It will always be one of my favorites!!
A sad and lonely midnight melody. The song evokes a complicated blend of memories from the early 90's. I'll always love David Lanz because of this one song - even though it makes me cry. Tears are a rarity in my life and this sweet sound allows the sorrows to flow. My spirit finds this very healing. Thank you.
I love this song too. I especially appreciate darkprince117's comment, just below. Love your interpretation. In response to bananafluffernut, I would try the Viennese waltz with this song.
Happy? It brought me some intense sorrow. Something along the lines of a child understanding death, and the incredibly painful process of losing a dear grandfather, and of his passing with his hands in hers. A child thinking he is asleep, and trying to wake him, trying again and again until she realizes he will never awake.
What dances could fit with this song? I might recommend it to my dance class (catillian) (excuse it if I spelled that wrong)

I love the story behind this song. I've seen David Lanz in concert a few times and he tells it everytime. You can actually visualize it as the song plays.
many years and a life ago i danced this piece with a marvelous dancer at an audition ... the bliss of gliding across the dance floor with a partner made for your arms ...
This is amazing! I have heard this somewhere, I'm sure of it!

Reminds me of a psychological murder scene in a movie involving a child. Kind of a creepy piano sound. Not relaxing to me. Actually more unnerving. Sorry to composer.
my daughter used to play this for me, especially on my birthday. Hearing it now, I almost am brought to tears. Music is truly, TRULY, God's gift to us. How gifted is the pianist, and the composer. Praise HIM!
