I went to junior high school with Dave before he went off to Cambridge to hone his skills. His passion for this instrument started very early, dedication and practice gave Dave the drive that you hear in his music. There is a lot of good jazz players in Motown, ya just have to check it out. GO DETROIT!!

I love this CD. It takes you on a journey. I was playing it while my neighbor, who likes rock, was hooking up my stereo, when he commented "who's that? I like him" (Dave McMurray). To that I say anyone who doesn't is either dead or just doesn't care for that type of music. My only problem is where can I go to see him? Legal Jazz

The only thing I've heard so far is "My Brother and Me." I'll reserve comment, but based upon this he certainly deserves a longer listen...
Maxx you need to listen to "My Brother and Me" if imagination is what you seek! Not only is there imagination throughout the entire song, he plays one helluva sax!! Try listening to the whole disc before such harsh judgement is passed. Especially, since I do not recall your name being used as the tag line for any particular magazine's music editor! (i.e.,DownBe a t , Jazziz, Vibe, hell, not even Ebony or Jet!!) Give it a rest!
Any body who remakes one silly song like 'just an iilusion' gotta be in a trance got to hear some of his other stuff!!!! you got to have more immagination ????.... not convinced !!!
