Dario Marianelli

Dario Marianelli is an Italian composer of film and concert music. Born in Pisa, he started piano studies and began singing as a chorister at age 6. When his voice broke, he devoted himself to playing piano and composing. He studied privately and took exams as an external student in nearby Florence, Lucca, and Livorno, and also studied counterpoint before moving to England. There, he studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and spent three additional years studying at the National Film and Television School. His film career extends back to 1994 with his score for Paddy Breathnach's movie, Ailsa. Over the course of two decades, he composed music for such films as The Brothers Grimm; V for Vendetta; Agora; Eat, Pray, Love; Jane Eyre; Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; and Quartet, as well as many others. He has achieved recognition for his work with filmmaker Joe Wright, providing scores to the films Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, The Soloist, and Anna Karenina. Among his honors, Marianelli has won the Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, the Phoenix Film Critics Society Award, and the World Soundtrack Award.

I liked the track but I felt that it is not properly crediting the composer. This is a variation on a baroque composition from Henry Purcell (1659-1695). In particular, the 2nd movement (Rondo) from his Abdelazar Suite.

I'm listening to Pride & Prejudice. Had to do a new search. Choose Dario Marianelli (artist) not Dario Marianelli (composer), that's what I did. Had to skip through 5 or 6 similar tracks, but it's P & P is there!

I adore the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack; it should definately be on Pandora. And, I notice alot of other commenters are asking about Atonement... I think I've had that play on my station before? Maybe they took it off Pandora since then though.
I was directed here while looking for the soundtrack to 'Jane Eyre'. Glad to see there are other disgruntled Marianelli admirers on here!

Pride and Prejudice is a great soundtrack, but at this point I'm not surprised that it's not on Pandora. They seem to have a deplorable lack of soundtracks in general. Not nearly enough of John Williams, and mostly the darker music of his and similar artists... I prefer the lighter stuff such as Pride and Prejudice and Peter Pan. I am quite disappointed .

you can get P&P's soundtrack on iTunes I know for sure. If you burn it to a disc then put it on your computer, you can do whatever you want with it (email, burn it again, listen to it on other mp3s, share it etc.)

The soundtrack of 2005 Pride and Prejudice is also one of the great product of Dario Marianelli. I am very surprised to discover that sound track is not available in this station.
There doesn't seem to be a digital version of the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack available. It's certainly not available for purchase on Amazon or emusic, and it's not available for streaming on last.fm. Why is that?
