Covenant is a Swedish electronic band signed to San Francisco's 21st Circuitry Records. Their music is built around deep, droning tones and thundering rhythms that support dark songs focusing on science fictional and cyberpunk themes, such as "Replicant" and "Painamplifier" from Dreams of a Cryotank. The third recorded band to use the name Covenant, they issued The United States of Mind in early 2000. ~ Steven McDonald, Rovi
Opinions are like.. well you know. Just sit back, mellow out, and enjoy the music. If you like it, great. If you don't, thumb the song down and move on. Simple as salt.
Thank you for your beauty. It is indeed a Brave New World afterall. May you be filled with peace, love, joy, wisdom, light, truth and divine prosperity.
covenant is amazing. for all im concerned they can be in there own genre. They have moved my soul and emotions throughout my life and I will never forget them nor will I stop listening.
Really!? fighting over what genre or subgenre this band is pretty lame. Convenant is a pretty kick a** band. A lot of people may not agree depending on their own taste. Yes the goth clubs I've been to have played their stuff. J-pop crap isn't goth but thats also played at goth clubs. If a majority of a certain scene, lifestyle, club, or what have you has their taste wrapped around this band then so be it! Why argue about it?

I can't believe you guys are arguing about if they are Goth or not. They are apart of the industrial movment in the 90's due to Industry boom in Sweden. I hope that all these people talking were actually there, because I was and they consider themselves under Industrial Goth Subgenere of Goth. Like Metal has Black Metal ect... and the gentelmen who put them with Depeche Mode is right. They were influenced heavily by them. And they are Goth. Because Goth has edgy industrial sounds in its genere,
Covenant was AMAZING live (and really cool in the meet and greet before hand) and i have been a fan for years and always regretted that i never saw them live (until i did last year i think it was).
There are so many different sub categories of categories of music now a days, while i wouldnt call Covenant goth (though goths may listen to it), futurepop works, but to people who have no exposure to any of this or similar type of music i normally say EBM/Synth/Industrial and that it's a broad class
To all those arguing over what genre it is....I used to own a small chain of music stores. We were successful because we found out what people listen to which artists. Goths listen to Covenant, so we filed it under Goth. As far as the music goes, it's dark, electronic, repetitive, danceable, and is a staple in at least 3 of the Goth clubs I frequent.

Anyone who doesn't think Covenant has goth roots is a moron. Real goth is nothing to do with losers dressed in those rediculous pants that was big during the 90s. All of these bands, like it or not, are influenced by Depeche Mode. Depeche mode is listed as one of the four founding cornerstones in the gothica bible.
i think this is THE shorted bio for any artist on Pandora. Someone else needs to do some more research and actually write more than three friggin sentences. This band deserves more than that.
Industrial/EBM/synth-pop or future-pop everything in this genre has a little goth in them but goth-rock covenant is not. Overall a good band but in my own humble opinion their songs are hit and miss. BTW its called new wave not panty wave ok then
No they aren't "goth rock" by the strict sense of the music genre but come on... All of these cold/dark/sad/panty wave bands fit the "goth" club scene perfectly and you know it. Why even try to deny it when its so danceable and perfect after a slow Switchblade Symphony track? I say it's very goth.
As a DJ, I have to say that Covenant is extremely over-played in clubs, but for good reason: Dead Stars, Ritual Noise, Brave New World, Bullet, and possibly Monochrome (although not as much lately) are all "standards" in the dance scene. Covenant is by NO means goth... and whoever wrote the backwards comment about Godsmack? Quit it. Different genres completely.
I've been listening to Covenant since the Europa release. So sad that one of the members has indefinitely left the band to have a family. However, I am really looking forward for the future of what Covenant releases, now that Daniel Mayer of Haujobb has joined them.

Grand Stuff! I agree with "Ace", I honestly have not heard anything good in the electronic/techno/industrial field from America in a while. (forever?)...

quite possibly they right so many i am based lyrics because the listener is supposed to feel like part of the song when they sing it, that's all i got
i love this band though, been listening to them since northern lights, and got into the rest of it quickly.

great music, but kinda gets to me, too much "I am this" and "i am that"
I absolutely LOVES me some Covenant. I still sing Theramin in my head all the time: "We dance to the sound of sirens, and we watch genocide to relax!" Ahhhh... epic.
if you really want to hear them watch the catacombs they have that large rave beat dame you just cant sit and you have to be a part of it so just get up and loose yourself in the music covenant you give me more backup in artwork!thank you!.danielgrosso@comcast.net
yeah why cant america produce any good suff evry once in a while

Seems all the great dark electronic bands are from elsewhere and it's like finding a gem in the sand. If you like Covenant and VNV Nation (my personal favorite) try Apoptygma Berserk. Go Sweden!!

Tyler Durden said it best: You are not the music you listen to, or the clothes you wear... you are not your F'ing Kakhi's.
