Led by vocalist Elijah Jones, the Constellations specialize in eclectic, rhythmic electro-rock that recalls the sounds of Beck, Gnarls Barkley, and the Heavy. The Atlanta-based collective features a rotating lineup of local pop, hip-hop, and rock musicians, several of whom -- including Cee-Lo and rapper Asher Roth -- contributed to the band’s debut album, Southern Gothic. With Jones calling the shots and Grammy-winning producer Ben H. Allen behind the boards, Southern Gothic was recorded in 2008 and released by Allen’s own label, Make Records Not Bombs. The Constellations reissued the album two years later, this time with the support of EMI. Saw them in Seattle recently and despite the fact that their show with the Electric Six was cancelled they found a way to get booked at another club for the same night. And although they wound up opening for the opener, they blew the other two bands away. The smaller crowd did not deter them from performing an awesome high energy show.
Just saw them at The Casbah in San Diego...Rocked it, they're excellent live!

The Constellations rocked hard at Austin City Limits this year... nothing like a band that can play just as good (and indeed, much better) live as on their album(s)!!

these guys are sooooo cool!!!!! this album is awesome, every song rocks, I just saw them open for the Electric 6 at the Culture Room in Ft Lauderdale......kick a** show!!!!!
This is the future of great music. Get on the bandwagon NOW ! EVERY SONG on this album is Spectacular. Chameleons of many musical styles. From Pop to Rock, Hip Hop to Country, House and Disco, Blues and Soul. The Constellations do them all effortlessly, with a fresh Funk sound to boot ! Their live show is AWESOME. Ya just can't help but dance, dance, dance !!!
