I just turned 40. I suppose I don't have much to show for it either. I have had a hell of a good time waiting for my real life to begin. I stand behind perpetual dreamers. What of our great accomplishme n t s inf life are we taking with us?

Great song. I've known a few people like the protagonist in this song. Perpetual dreamers who never actually do anything and muddle through the real world and live in perpetual adolescence, then wake up at 40 and realize they don't have anything to show for their lives.

To me this is NOT a song about good things are about to come. It is more about a guy who keeps trying to Roll the dice to be a winner, whatever that means. He wakes up every morning to nothing happening, but he's got these big dreams.
While he's looking to the future, his partner/wife whatever is trying to get him to understand that you have to live in the present and realize that you have to value what you have, not always wish/wait for something else.
The way he ended the song, I had to thumbs down it. I couldn't wait for it to end.
