Seattle rock quartet the Classic Crime feature vocalist Matt MacDonald, drummer Paul Erickson, bassist Alan Clark, and guitarists Justin Duque and Robbie Negin. First meeting in high school, all but Negrin were playing together in the band Orizon before the addition of said fifth member prompted a name change. Time was spent on the road in early 2006 with both Mest and Tooth & Nail labelmates Anberlin and Emery, all of which led up to the May release of the band's debut album, Albatross. 2007 saw the release of an acoustic EP, Seattle Sessions, while the group returned to the studio and set to work writing and recording their second album. ~ Corey Apar, Rovi
I didn't have a chance to tell the band this when I was waiting in line at the last Classic Christmas, but I think the best way to describe what their music has been to me would be to say that The Classic Crime, to me, is what Bruce Springsteen was/is for my dad.
Ok so they are christian. They have played at all Christian performances. They have played at both creation east and west. And during one of these performances they talked about how God has helped them ao much in writing their songs and recording.
@irarock77 you are insane this band is Christian I have met every single one of it's members and they follow God. They avoid pouncing they are a Christian band because they don't want to be labels as a _____ kinda of band that only plays ____ music.
I always thought The Silver Cord would be my favorite album, but I'm beginning to find myself obsessed with Albatross(: I haven't finished listening to Vagabonds and Seattle Sessions, but what I've heard so far is good!
not to say i don't like their other albums (because i definitely do), but Albatross will always be my favorite. It's the album that made me fall in love with their music.

@CalebScott The Classic Crime has a christian label that does not make them christian. Morally good lyrics do not make a band Christian. The band claims to have members with religious beliefs, but because they do not all believe the same thing( implying that they are not all christians) they do not label them selves as christians. Check Wiki or other sources to confirm. Either way great band amazing voice and excellent sound management and quality.

Pandora found "Drink in my Hand" for me first and now I own all their CD's via iTunes. Love this band.
they are Christian 1)it reflects in the lyrics 2)and look at the similar artists four are Christian and Anberlin was made from the ashes of a Christian band
Mmm the Classic Crime. I first heard of them a couple years ago and thought they were nothing to write home about, but they're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.
They are one of the few bands that get better as cd's progress. I keep buying, expecting it to get worse, but ever since I bought Vegabonds, it has yet to leave my cd player in my car, and I have 30 min of travel minimum each day..i could listen to solar powered life over and over :)
sorry but VAGABONDS is the best album. vagabonds, four chords, different now, cheap shots.... totallly rock my sox offf. this is by far the best modern band we have right now. without a doubt.
@sdyer307 its up for debate because not all the members of the band are christian. If I am correct 3-4 of the band are christian. There was an interview not too long ago by Enoch magazine that talked to the band about their faith.
just a pretty beast band overall, remind me a little of rise against, but definately unique

still think that their first cd is the best. not saying that the others are bad, just that the first one is better. anyway I love their music and cant wait for their new album to come out.
