Taking their name from an ancient Louisiana tradition of all-night partying, Charivari plays a youthfully charged, emotionally vibrant brand of Cajun music. Endorsed by such New Orleans legends as Michael Doucet and Sam Broussard, Charivari is considered to be one of the premier Cajun groups performing in 2000. Rounder Records released a number of their albums in the '90s, then started a new decade with I Want to Dance With You. Trip to the Holiday Lounge arrived in the Spring of 2005. ~ Zac Johnson, Rovi
Just had to put the bio in context. First "le charivari" is more than just a party. It is a loud raucous event whereby the community surrounds the newlyweds home and make noise, music, beat pans, etc to ward off any bad spirits from the new union. Also Michael Doucet and Sam Broussard are Lafayette legends not New Orleans. Anyway this group is made up of great musicians!!!
