I got the the best memory when I called her name Celia! And she waived at me, she had just finished singing with El Combo at a concert held at Madison Square Garden, where the late Franky Ruiz featured also. I wished I would have ran into her in person so I could have given her a hug and a kiss...and express her my appreciation for her everlasting music contribution to the entire world. Que Dios la bendiga! Y las gracias por darnosla.

This was, is, and will always be the real mccoy in latin music.
She was also know for LA REYNA DE LA SALSA. The most respect is the proper term to describe how important she was for us salsa lovers. She is a legend and a true artist.

Celia was one of a kind, extremely talented voice, a beautiful person inside and out. I loved her with Tito Puente when they performed it was awesome music to anyones ears. May they both connect uptown and continue to do what they both loved and that's to play there heart out.
