Disco diva Ce Ce Peniston seemed poised to become that genre's reigning crossover attraction. She was born in Dayton, OH, but her family moved to Phoenix when she was nine. Peniston was crowned Miss Black Arizona in 1989 and signed with A&M in the early '90s. Her debut, Finally, was a gold album; it peaked at number 36 on the pop charts and even landed a Top Ten pop hit with "Finally" and Top 20 pop single "We Got a Love Thang." After Thought 'Ya Knew in 1994, Peniston issued 1996's I'm Movin' On. Peniston continued to sing into the new millennium and regularly plays shows in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and San Francisco. Not entirely part of the mainstream that brought her success in the early '90s, Peniston's work is remixed and remains a favorite in dance clubs around the world. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi
I love ce ce .... She was one of my favorite artists back in the early 90's and still is.... I wonder how she is doing .... Either way I hope that all is well . And it's amazing to see how may people love her music miss her music and love and miss her like I do !!!! Great music .... I sooooo miss the 90's!!!!
Attractive woman with a solid voice.Seems like she should've had a bigger career than she did.Hope some deep house producer puts her on some tracks or something like that.Hope all is well CeCe.
I'm sorry but that bio is horrible!! I could have wrote a better bio for CeCe than that!

I was homeless in the early 90's and I owened the cloth on my back and a cd player with Ce Ce Peniston Finally album and I owe her my everthing because her music kept me positive and now I reside in Hawaii......she made me realize that Paradise is a state of mind not where you are, and now I embrace Paradise each and everyday......Thanx CeCe
She will always be a superb vocalist and her music will stand the test of time as long as we dont get it twisted by posers and people who dont know the aryistry of soul music. I get tired of people trying to put artists in a alabel or certain buckets. The woman was just a badd badd girl with that voice! Jaye

finally! Cairo Chicago! Some of the BEST years of my life ahh memories!
Cece is the bomb! One of the most underrated artists of the 90s and even today. I would put her against any of this Autotune mess called music ANYDAY!! She is a real singer...not a wannabe or flash in the pan 1 hit wonder. Some of these so called singers need to call for lessons how TO SING!!!
Totally underrated artist! Her voice alone shows she's a force to be reckoned with. A nice change to hear a singer who doesn't need to rely on Autotune to sound good. What a lot of acts today are missing!
CeCe you are definitely alright with me. I was in the audience when you performed at Camp Stanley, Korea. Your stage performance was superior and it made me wonder "WHY?" aren't you still producing slamming hits. I wish you the best of luck and I hope that I will hear your music on that "Main Stream" level again. Until then, I'll keep pumping your "Old School" jams. Good Luck CeCe!!!!
