Cavo's four members -- frontman Casey Walker, guitarist Chris Hobbs, drummer Chad La Roy, and bassist Brian Smith -- champion a mix of hard rock muscle and alt-pop melodies. The latter three members formed the group in March 2001, and a series of setbacks (including one bandmate's disintegrating marriage and another's alcohol problem) helped fuel The Painful Art of Letting Go. The album marked Cavo's independent debut upon its release in 2006; moreover, it led to shows alongside the likes of Staind, and the mounting buzz helped bring Cavo to the attention of Reprise Records. After signing a contract with the label in 2008, the band retreated to the studio to record Bright Nights Dark Days, which was released the following year. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
Found out I live down the road from one of the members of this band... Got hooked on them instantly after my dad bought a CD. CAVO is probably my favorite local band from St. Louis :)
Cant get enough of their song "Let it go" Saw them with Lifehouse & Daughtry also at 1st Mariner area in Balt, Md. WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! CAVO is AWESOME!
saw them here in KC w/ Rev Theory and RLC on new years eve 2009/10, they were ok. not great but all they played was slow songs and seemed pretty emoish. but i do like a few of their songs, crash and champagne for instance are great. all the other will take some time to grow on me
I saw Cavo in Balt Md with Daughtry and Lifehouse... Cavo is amazing... i thought they would suck because I never heard of them, but they ROCKED like Daughtry & Lifehouse did... and I cant get enough of their song "Let it go" CAVO is one amazing band!!!
Fist time I've ever heard them, and they are AWESOME! Cry Wolf is amazing.

So are they from St. Louis or not? What in the world is so career-damaging about claiming that you're from here? Not a word about it in the bio. It's a shame that so much amazing music is eternally kept secret from the rest of the country. I sure feel lucky to live here or I would never get to hear a lot of the best music around. Can anyone explain this?
