What a horrible waste of good talent. Wish she would've lived longer to make more beautiful music.

Ahhh the memories. I had this album when it first came out and taught myself to play this tune on my little keyboard. Still love it to this day. Karen's voice is like an angel. I know she is singing this in Heaven.
when I met my boyfriend 8 years ago, we were talking and I said that I sing...he asked me to sing something to him and I randomly leaned close to his ear and sang him Close To You...I asked him later why he decided to get together with me and he said "because you serenaded me"

well wow music is such a huge part of our lives and gets into our souls.
I think it helps mold us to who we become inside. I was in 6th grade when my dad took me to see them in concert and in Las Vegas it was one of the best times in my life.
Karen Carpenter is Mormon and doesn't know it (well, she just may be, now that she's in the afterlife...) You can't hear this song and not hear her kind, warm-hearted nature. She's amazing... Almost as cool as my mom, and my mom is beyond amazing.
My high school chorus worked on this song forever, and it was really difficult to tell how it would come together through it all. Once we got it, though, it was truly a beautiful arrangement. Too bad music has been all but taken out of schools today. It gives you a different perspective of what it takes to bring a song to life. A very memorable song.
Their first big hit. Though I liked this song at the time, I really expected them to be a 'one hit wonder'. The song was nice and pleasant but there was little indication that greatness would follow. They surprised us!
I Love The Carpenters... I Think Richard & Karen The Greatest Duo Pop Off Alkl Time Over The Planet... They Was a Part Of My Childhood... Especially I NEED TO BE IN LOVE.
This is just how I feel about my baby. I love him AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Correct is: "So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold And starlight in your eyes of blue."
