One of the most successful performers in contemporary Christian music, Carman was born Dominic Licciardello on January 19, 1956; "saved" at an Andrae Crouch concert, he was later discovered by Bill Gaither, eventually founding his own ministry and recording arm. Debuting in 1982 with Some-O'-Dat, he issued a series of LPs which gradually launched him to the top of CCM playlists, and between 1987 and 1989 he was named Charisma magazine's readers' choice for favorite male vocalist in three consecutive years. In 1990, Carman was also named Billboard's CCM Artist of the Year, with his LP Revival of the Land winning Album of the Year honors; he won countless awards in the years to follow, as well as a series of gold and platinum records. On August 15, 1993, in the wake of the release of his Yo! Kidz: Heroes, Stories and Songs from the Bible, Carman mounted his "Music For Peace" crusade at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, the 50,000 ticketholders in attendance making it the largest solo Christian concert in history; he broke his own mark a year later, appearing before a crowd of 71, 132 at Dallas' Texas Stadium. In 1995 he released R.I.O.T. (Righteous Invasion of Truth), accompanied by a book of the same name; Mission 3:16 followed in 1998. The double-disc hits compilation Heart of a Champion was issued two years later. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
GOD HAS USED CARMAN TO TOUCH MY LIFE AND THE LIFE OF MY FAMILY MANY, MANY TIMES. WE PRAY FOR HIS HEALING...I BELIEVE HE STILL HAS MUCH TO DO FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD

love this song!!! We definitely need God in America again!!
He used to come to Youngstown OH every year. Used to take the kids to his concerts. We all loved him. He always seemed to remember you from the year before.
My Father use to sing his music before his sermons. Carman heard that he sang his music and would invite our men to usher his concerts back in the 80's. I grew up with Carman's music in our home...and dancing at his concerts will always be one of the best memories of my childhood.

I love Carman, he has not just a powerful voice but a powerful anointing with it which a lot of artist have a lack of. I've followed his career since 1990 and will always follow his career. Love all his songs, their is not one that I don't know by heart and sing with him too in my home. God bless you Carman.

I love carman his songs where my anchor when I was a teenager. The words are so true.
I met Carman after a R.I.O.T. concert in Houston, Texas area. He was at a Wal Mart, signing autographs for hours. Tho we were close to the end of the line, he still shared a joke with my son, and a wink with his gorgeous smile for my little girl. His childrens music is wonderful for all ages!
I saw him at Hofstra in a small theatre in about '86 or '87 after that it had to be bigger venues - he is soooo anointed when he is singing, talking, preaching - a wonderful ministry

I remember listening to Carman when he only has LP's. My family and I absolutely love his music and his ministry. My question is - he fell off the face of the earth (so to speak). What is he doing now? Was his last albumn in 2007? Where is he? Does anyone know?
One of the greatest contemporary christian male vocalist of all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love his music! My favorite male artist! I have most of his cds. May God bless him and keep using him as He knows how to.

Carman rocks! He's been a favorite for a long time, and still is. Like many of my favorite artists, Carman has no solid "style", blending all kinds of music and mixing in the Message.
In response to the previous comment: Carman has numerous hip-hop songs sprinkled throughout his albums (and Mission 3:16 is not one of those albums. :P) Addicted to Jesus and Revival in the Land are a bit more down that alley, especially the former, but again, none of his albums really have a solid "style".

Why this came on my Holy Hip Hop radio? I'll never quite get, but "Mission 3:16" is pretty much EPIC... and almost 'needs' a rap mash-up anyway... good times >_<

I had a chance to see him when I was younger, and the impression he made on me was unforgettable. The way he makes Christian music appealing to people of all ages is what makes his energy and love for the Lord so infectious. His witness to the Lord is just incredible. He has a devoted listener in me.
