Stan was unique with a sound all his own! His "Four Bros" section work, along with his "Early Autumn" solo, proved his complete mastery of the tenor. He could "drive", as well as, portray the nuance of the ballard! A truly musician's musician!!!

WE WATCHED PBS " BOSTON POPS" WITH STAN GETZ AS ONE OF 2 GUESTS.... HE WAS IN HIS LATER YRS AND ILL WITH CANCER.... IT WAS SO TOUVHING THAT HIS LAST NUMBER WITH THE POPS WAS THE BEAUTIFUL SONG" GOODBYE".. AND LOOKING CLOSE YOU COULD SEE TEAR FILLED EYES, AS HE PLAYED..... HE WENT BACK TO HIS HOME IN MALIBU, AND YOU COULD HIM SERENADING THE OCEAN AND THE BEACH, UNTIL HE DIED , SHORTLY AFTER HIS VISIT WITH THE BOSTON POPS........ . . . HE WAS/ IS AMAZING...
AND SUCH MUSIC HE MADE........ . . . . .
