Burton Cummings

Burton Cummings, born in Winnipeg in 1947, played with the Devrons before joining the Guess Who as lead vocalist in 1965. Cummings spent ten years with that band, but left for a solo career, releasing a self-titled album in 1976. The single, "Stand Tall," sold over a million copies. He has also released My Own Way to Rock (1977), Dream of a Child (1978), Woman Love (1980), Sweet Sweet (1981) and Plus Signs (1990). ~ John Bush, Rovi

The movie Burton was in is 'Melanie.' Burton has been my favorite singer since I discovered The Guess Who back in the 70's. Saw them perform once in Green Bay, again when members of the band reunited for the American Woman Tour in 2001 in Moline and Milwaukee. I told my husband I was too old to scream, but when they came out onstage, it was teeny-bopper time all over again! Fantastic performances , all!! Last saw Burton perform in Milw. 1 1/2 years ago. Have the towel he threw at the end!
Burton had a huge solo career in Canada and eventually released a double album of greatest hits. These days he tours with fellow Guess Who alum Randy Bachman (BTO), as Bachman Cummings.

I am impressed with Pandora's bios, but this one is woefully short. Also, for some reason the song Dream shows the lyrics to Dream of a Child. ???
He made a movie in the 80's. Don't remember the name but it was touching
the most pure voice. he is incredible
saw burton at the Keswick near philly 2012. While it was phenomenal to hear songs I thought i'd never hear from the original artist he seemed bored , forgot lyrics and kept spouting anger and frustration with the touring Guess Who band.
One of purest voices Rock and Roll has ever known and a genuinely nice guy.
saw him in Bayfield Wi last summer-2012. Still has that great voice at 64 years of age! What a great show!

I saw him in concert (January 2012) -- he's in great voice and gave us a fantastic show!!!
One doesn't hear quality voices like this much anymore, especially with a great backing band. I have all his albums and even read his blogs.. Yikes.
one of them voices i could listen to all day
