The Toadies were one of the hotter prospects in the major label grunge wars of the early/mid-90's, but their lengthy waits between albums and internal dissention eventually broke apart the band after the release of their 2001 album. Former member Todd Lewis was the one to pull the trigger, and felt quite depressed and dejected about his situation. Maintaining a low profile while he tried to put his old band to rest, former Izzy Stradlin drummer Taz Bentley came to Lewis about starting a project. Both musicians began thinking about how to approach things, and they agreed to avoid major labels and put together a grass roots duo. Hence, the Burden Brothers agreed to a deal with Last Beat Records where they record songs whenever they feel about it, and Last Beat offers the songs on the Burden Brothers' website. Their first release, a self-titled EP collecting the first four songs in the series, appeared at the beginning of 2002. Buried in Your Black Heart followed a year later. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
THEY HAVEN'T OFFICIALLY BROKEN UP, COREY & CASEY #2 (HESS WILL ALWAYS BE #1) JUST LEFT, AND VADEN HAS STATED THAT WE SHOULD LOOK FOR UPCOMING BB STUFF IN '09! BUT STILL, THE GREATEST ROCK 'N ROLL BAND EVER......EVER!!!!!
i absolutely love these guys! high-energy, fun-loving attitude, and rock-your-balls-off kind of band. 2 albums i definitely won't leave home without. so sad they already broke up (as of '07).
