Boy this reminds me of Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

I don't think anyone knows what's going down anymore. Perhaps nobody ever has.

By the way, the British called the forefathers of our great nation "terrorist" and I'm sure native Americans would have too if they even had that concept. That's why music is outlawed in places like Iran and Saudi Arabia. It gives the dispossessed a voice and opens up minds to competing cultures, philosophies and religions. Shalom

Yay yay I get it. The rebellious 60's led to the introverted 70's and then on to the hedonistical l y selfish 80's and 90's. I was there too. But instead of writing it all off to The Who's "won't get fooled again", let's keep trying. At least you can't say the 60's was apathetic (like today). Shalom

Search our history, check our history, or what's left of it. The man is out to get us? - WE ARE THE MAN!!! Stephen 01/27/16

Furthermore Buffalo Springfield wrote this song catering to its audience - the college students, they were the ones buying the album's. The same ones who burned down the ROTC buildings. The same ones who through their student committees would not allow GIs to come on campus. The same generation, who gave us the Black Panther party and the Weather Underground, and later the SLA. Terrorist organization s , American bred. This was not the age of Aquarius, everybody had blood on their hands.

That wonderful rebellious generation now runs the education system, and the man was law enforcement because the students were busy burning down the campus and calling soldiers baby killers-I was there. Nothing good came out of the 60s, and if you think so. Today is a byproduct of it. As I said I was there. The peace we want today is a piece of the action. And that's what they wanted too, a piece of the action. Stephen, peace love dope baby!!!

@dylan>>>onl y if that government truly represents it's people. Giving up our freedoms in order to defeat "terrorism" only makes us more like them. Shalom

This song, unfortunatel y , stays true through the ages.

It's not necessarily the government but terrorism that this song should be about

Classic! This was based on a curfew riot on 1966 Sunset Strip. Song of the late 1960s, after the British Invasion of the early 1960s left their mark.

Every college freshman should be required to listen to and memorized the lyrics of this song. Then maybe...just maybe...we can rediscover the vision, hopes, and dreams of that wonderfully rebellious generation. This is a honest "pull no punches" song for those of us striving for a better future. Shalom
