The first three albums that blue oyster cult put out still sound outstanding aging like a fine wino....

There are a few songs in my life whereI can remember where I was when I first heard it. Don't Fear the Reaper is one of them.

I'm recycling the following: The 1st time I saw these guys they opened for Rod Stewart & the Faces. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Seen them about a dozen times and Agents of Fortune is still one of my favorite records. Did not care for much after that and, in fact, met them in 89 and they were a**holes. I think they may have been bummed about going back to clubs and having to wear the Godzilla head as a finale. Still does not take away from the many great shows I saw them perform
REAL MUSIC STILL LIVES, THERE IS STILL HUMANITY LEFT IN MUSIC

P.S. This Pandora station won't get you anywhere near the meat of this band. Start with Tyranny and Mutation and listen as an album at least 20 times, and you'll start to get it. At first its an assault of wailing guitars, but soon your ear starts to sort everything out. Some of it is pure genius.

Got cut off. Recommend: The Vigil, the Subhuman, OD'd on Life Itself, Dominance and Submission, Astronomy from Some Enchanted Evening, Flaming Telepaths, and probably 30 more, there are so many. From later albums Live for Me and Harvest Moon.

BOC's first three albums are soooooo good, then thins out some, but every album has at least one near classic on it. Their library rivals Led Zep, but the good songs just never got played on FM (too dark I think). In concert all five members would contribute to the guitar solo on ME262 (including drummer), which you can hear on the version in On Your Feet or On Your Knees. Buck Dharma is one of the top 10 lead guitarists of the era. Recommend: The Vigil (perhaps best guitar track ever recorded b

just saw them on the rock legends cruise with 25 other bands, great show, I've always been a BOC fan but never had a chance to see them. I even had the chance to meet them.
Saw them with Kansas last summer. Awesome show. It was like a high school reunion. Now I know why old bands keep going. People get a couple of hours of flash-backs!

So... Their song (Don't Fear) The Reaper was on the Rolling Stone 500 at one point and time and it was also ranked the #1 rock track of 1976 but it doesn't get mentioned at all? That doesn't make much sense...
