The Blow is really visual artist and performer Khaela Maricich, who formerly released recordings under the name Get the Hell Out of the Way of the Volcano, after which she recorded (with the help of some guests) for K under the name the Blow. The Blow set lyrics that sound like unverbalized thoughts to herself to minimal, often electronically textured basic pop melodies. Maricich's debut as the Blow was 2002's Bonus Album, which she followed the next year with The Concussive Caress, or, Casey Caught Her Mom Singing Along with the Vacuum. In 2004, Maricich teamed up with musical tech-geek Jona Bechtolt for the recording of the limited-edition EP Poor Aim: Love Songs, released late that same year. The results were much to their liking, so much so that the Blow decided to thus remain a duo. Everyday Examples of Humans Facing Straight into the Blow arrived early in 2005 and contained material that had previously been released under Maricich's earlier Volcano moniker. The Portland-based duo then returned in October 2006 with a full-length of new music entitled Paper Television. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
True Affection is a great song. I love the rythm and the way the song seems to slowly drift along. Very relaxing. Looking forward to hearing more from The Blow on Pandora.
Does anyone realize how awesome the album art is for Paper Television? : members holding painting of DAW screen, plastered over a background of some trees. perfect
i only know two the blow songs. parenthesis and true affection. but may i say i do quite enjoy them. and i often hear true affection playing in chipotle :>
There seem to be a lot of important albums that Pandora does not have.

oh my goodness, i`ll bet d4l ripped off the beat from this song. mainstream pop music, especially rap, is beginning to do that now, with other really good songs. wierd, because my boyfriend and i were just joking around a few days ago and started doing laffy taffy on our guitars and rapping it......hmmm
Khaela charmed a crowd that was antsy to see Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins in Tulsa, OK, in 2006. It was so memorable that we immediately went to the table and bought her CD. She was amazing, hilarious, adorable, smart. :)
The music is better live--a lot of it made more sense with her there in person singing it. She is quirky as hell, and if you are open to it, the concert will make an impression on you. But she certainly isn't for everyone: My boyfriend found the whole thing pretty unbearable. But then, he is a metalhead.

I saw her live at Sasquatch Festival and she stole the whole show from the third stage. Her stories and songs all blended together and if you blinked you missed her killer dance moves.
Actually, that isn't a typo. Khaela Maricich is a visual artist, hence the statement "The Blow is really visual artist...Khaela Maricich."

I noticed a typo in the first sentence, "the Blow is really visual artist" which doesn't make sense, i'd suggest putting an 'a' in there somewhere either between is and really or between really and visual :)
