Bloodsimple

New York City metalcore band Bloodsimple were formed from the ashes of influential hardcore/thrash metal act Vision of Disorder. After VoD's 2001 album, From Bliss to Devastation, received a lukewarm response from fans and critics, the group went on hiatus, and in 2002 the bandmembers announced their breakup. By this time, lead singer Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy had already begun working on material for a new project; originally called Fix 8, the group started life as a side project, but with the breakup of VoD and the arrival of guitarist Nick Rowe, Bloodsimple took on a life of their own. After the addition of bassist Kyle Sanders (ex-Medication and Skrew) and drummer Chris Hamilton (formerly with Downset, Crowbar, and Deadbolt), the members of Bloodsimple began writing songs and recording demos, and they attracted the attention of Chad Gray of the band Mudvayne, who signed the group to his label, Bullygoat Records (which is distributed by Warner Bros./Reprise). Bloodsimple's first album, A Cruel World, was released in the spring of 2005, and the band hit the road, sharing stages with the likes of Superjoint Ritual, American Head Charge, Soulfly, Six Feet Under, and Stone Sour. In 2007 the band was part of the popular heavy metal package show The Family Value Tour, and in the fall of that year the group released its second full-length album. Entitled Red Harvest, the album was Bloodsimple's first recording with drummer Will Hunt, who was one of several drummers recruited by Bloodsimple to handle percussion chores after Chris Hamilton left the group. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Bloodsimple and VOD are both great bands, rock on
Bought the first CD about 7yrs ago, its alright, but a lot of slow ballads. I prefer something a lot more intense.
F**king love this band! Follow and I'll follow back I promise.

They are a good band...howev e r I find it a little sad that they only have two albums. They must've not stayed together for a long time like some bands do :/
Greetings acculdetuner . . . y o u gotta lot of hate for a stupid band..... R you okay bro?....
grrr, stupid character limitations - I'll listen to it if it's on, but I wouldn't choose to rock it out like I used to with VOD's first two albums. VOD was way ahead of their time in the 90's and CREATED something new for the time. Bloodsimpl e seems to fall within an already cast shadow of this genre of music by many bands before them. VOD broke the rules. Bloodsimpl e follows the rules. It's not bad, it just doesn't have anywhere near the amount of impact on me as VOD did back in the day.
I liked the old VOD much better. This stuff, although good, seems like they're sticking to the safe kind of sounds. Perhaps they're too paranoid of another breakup due to bad reviews/resp o n s e s from fans/media for trying new things like what happened to VOD. By trying to please as many people as possible with this safe and catchy kind of music, they're not appealing to those of us who like the adventurous and experimental stuff that actually furthers music genres. I'll listen to it if it's on, bu
HEY this is BAD A**!!!! first time ive hearing this band..... straight HATE GOOD STUFF!!!!
