Having gotten their start in Stockholm, Sweden under the name "Underfree" during the first two years of their career, Marcus Dahlström (drums), Simon Grenehed (guitar), Christian Lindskog (vocals) and Tomas Naslund (bass) eventually changed their name to Blindside upon the release of their second demo in 1996. Being a regular in the Christian heavy metal scene of Sweden, Day-Glo Records eventually followed with the release of Blindside's self-titled first album in 1997. After a distribution deal with Tooth and Nail Records, the Empty Box EP came out the following year. The Thought Crushed My Mind followed in early 2000. Two years later, the band released Silence, their first for Elektra. Tours with Hoobastank and P.O.D. followed in September and October. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
Essential Blindside listening: First half of Silence album, second half of About a Burning Fire album (After You're Gone is one of the best Blindside songs of all time), first half of A Thought Crushed My Mind album, and There Must Be Something in the Water from their latest album.
Stevenmaier I can agree with you he does a great job, but a man by the name of Christian Älvestam does a pretty impressive job himself. Check him out. He is in several metal bands. I would start with the first three albums of Scar Symmetry and also in a band called Solution .45. Highly reccomend both.

Blindside is fantastic live. If they are ever within an 8-hour drive of you, GO!
The bio on this band sucks! - Pandora!!!! Please learn about the bands you write bios on. These guys are one of the most amazing bands out there, and your bio makes them look like they're cheap indie rockers! Also, they have released an Ep and a Full Length since the Great Dspression!
Saw them live in St. Paul on the fourth--they've still got it.

Playing with these dudes on September 12th in Dallas! I am soooo stoked.

ONE OF THE BEST ARTISTS OUT THERE. POSITIVE MESSAGE AND STILL KNOWS HOW TO ROCK! PLUS THEY HAVE HARMONIES WHICH YOU DON'T OFTEN FIND IN HARD BANDS SUCH AS THIS. ME LIKEY A LOT!
I agree with Chris, and the Great Depression album went to mainstream, yet about a burning fire was almost to calm creating Silence in the middle which was a happy medium.

Silence is the BEST album from Blindside. All of the songs on that album are great!
Silence and About A Burning Fire are amazing albums. The Great Depression was good, but it could have been better (why do concept albums always seem to disappoint?). Looking forward to the new one.

nothing like anberlin... at all. both are great bands, i like blindside better, but they are Nothing similar.
Seen them a few times and they never disappoint - They always tour with new bands that are pretty great too, like mewithoutyou. Check out 'My Mothers Only Son' - One of their best tunes.....
Pandora really needs to add their early albums! Well mainly "Blindside" (1997), Invert and Daughter are awesome songs, and like guiarprodigy113 said, "Silence" (2002). "A Thought Crushed My Mind" (2000) was actually their second album, and while not near as good as "Silence", it was rereleased in 2005. The song "Pitiful" was the slickest hit from "Silence", you can check it out on youtube.
An amazing band I've been following for about 8 years now (about the time of their 2nd cd), and they just continue to impress me more and more. Silence is still my favorite album, but I have to give them credit for how much of themselves (Or Christian mainly, I think) into their music, and how personal it is. Especially in their Great Depression album. Also, if you ever get the opportunity to see them live, you really should. It's one of the most energetic shows I have ever seen.
