A member of Fat Joe's DITC crew, rapper Big L was born Lamont Coleman on May 30, 1974. He made his solo debut with 1995's Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, scoring a series of underground hits including "No Endz, No Skinz," "Street Struck" and "Da Graveyard"; Big L's best-known effort, the single "Ebonics," followed on his own Flamboyant label in the summer of 1998. Around the same time, he joined the Bronx-based hip-hop supergroup DITC (Diggin' in the Crates), appearing on their single, "Dignified Soldiers." On the evening of February 15, 1999, Big L was shot and killed just blocks away from his Harlem home; he was just 24 at the time of his death. Big L was the greatest from the east without a doubt, if L lived for a year I bet he would be way more big and famous than Biggie Smalls cause he was gonna signed to Roca-Fella with Jay-Z the week he died and I think without a doubt he would be way bigger than both Bad Boy and Death Row Records especially since he was still amazing on Flamboyant and he was undoubtadly and arguably the best from the East during the 90's and deserved fame. Boy I wish rap would return to the spirit off this era. Big l one of the best. In hi school we went on a mission trip to help poor people in Ny. I bumped his album all the way to the city. 90s was a great time to be a kid. I used to bump big l on my walkman before playing baseball/bball I. Hi school. Can I ride stewies time machine back to 92 93. Today's music horrible. I miss my Ibm 128 computer and original super nintendo! Miss da 90s
