Actually, his son drew a picture of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". An that's he got inspired to write the song. Although. I'm pretty sure they were on something when they wrote this. Lol
George Harrison was the one who really wanted to do this Cirque show. He was friends with the founder. Google it. Paul and Ringo were invovled in this also. They probably enjoy another version of their music.
These Love versions are oddball mashups. My preference is that they be listed under the name George Martin so I could eliminate them from rotation without also eliminating the original Beatles tunes. They are not as bad as the Guess Who covers of Beatles songs, but that's a pretty low bar to have to use for comparision.
I hate how people go around singing this song and they do not even know who its by! Respect the classics!

I finished loosing my respect for Sir George Martin after listening to this. But it started when he "arranged" a cover of Golden Slumbers. I don't understand the application of remixing Beatles music. It takes the true sound away...also, it takes the spot of the original tracks that should be in rotation on channels. The elements from other songs are put on one track, which makes it sound like the song came out a few months ago rather than in 1967.

Stairway to Heaven played backwards has devil praises, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds LSD. Urban Bullshit!! Lennon was not known to sugarcoat anything said to the press or general public. Julian came home from school with a picture of a girl named Lucy who wore diamonds and lived in the sky. Inspiration from a kiddie doodle. Awesome!

It simply does not get any better...the Beatles mastered their craft like no other craftsman of any kind ever has or ever will. Just absorb the music, the innovative production and most of all learn their lyrics so thoughtful, always conveying ideas of fun, fantasy and sometimes serious social and political statements. And they made it all so simple. Never will there be any better.
