when you look at the cover of the album and think that they were all just under 30 - to have accomplished so much together, wonder what else they could have done had they been able to get back together ....
What a beautiful song- and yes Paul penned it on a ride with Linda, even with that John and he sing absolutely perfect harmony, so sad that they couldn't keep it together, the whole was definitely better than the parts divided. Watch the movie Let it Be- John was just joking around and threw the lines out in the beginning as a joke- did this on other songs also.
This song always came to mind when reviewing the navigation track home at the end of a long submarine deployment. Made me smile throughout chart review.
still sounds good,,miss those days too much........

Good song.

It would be "'I Dig a Pygmy', by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids... Phase One, in which Doris gets her oats!" It was shouted by John Lennon, and most likely means absolutely nothing. Well, Charles Hawtrey was a British comedy actor and the Dead Aids was the nickname for the Beatles Vox amps. (yay Wikipedia) So if it means anything, it's probably an inside joke that only the other band members would find funny.
Something about "I dig a pygmy...phase one in which Doris gets her oats." Don't know the middle section, and couldn't tell you what (if anything) it means.
