Bad!? This is one of The Beatles most killer songs! The beat gets you up off your arse and makes you want to boogie along! Lennon's vocals and that guitar riff are just sick! Me and my monkey, indeed...
In my opinion, it's a very good groove. Did the Beatles write songs for musicians? ...Sometimes their riffs were for the musician in them... eh... or in George Martin!!? Impressive lil' rythms going on, even in the riffage.
Personally, I love this song... I can't exactly put my finger on why, except that... I've really never heard anything else like it.

this ain't bad....just wierd. but it was the 60's, and they were celebrities, i guesss they could get away with it.

well, I gotta say, I agree with you: if you compare this song to other White Album anthems such as "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" or "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" (not to mention other Beatles masterpieces from other albums... too many to list here, shall we just say 'hey jude', 'let it be' etc..) this one comes up short. But a bad Beatles song is somewhat like bad pizza: it's still pretty good... :)
Get ready to shoot me... This is one of my least favorite Beatles songs. One of their few 'throw-away' songs. How bad do I consider this?? Well.... how about a step below Ringo's songs. The only worse piece on the White Album would be #9... the ultimate in 'filler space'. (it's only intent was to fill space on side four)
Now that I've angered you, go ahead and send your cursory response. I'm used to it.
