Paul wrote this song after he saw his mother (who died when he was young i think 14 or 15) in a dream and all she said to Paul was Let It Be and that's all he remembered when he woke up so he wrote the song. The song doesn't have to do with Mother Mary from the bible his mothers name was Mary

Which one of us hasn't gone through times of trouble needing a word of wisdom? God started the universe with a Word; Let it Be! His Word has power in it. It is the beginning of understandin g . (Proverbs1:2 ) Jesus will accept you right where you are in times of trouble, He did me. Great tune in troubling times. Listen to it with Christ in mind and it takes on a different meaning.
