Interviewer: "Time magazine claims that your song 'Norwegian Wood' is about a lesbian and 'Day Tripper' is about a prostitute. What were you thinking of when you wrote the song?"
Paul: "We're just trying to write songs about lesbians and prostitutes."

Nobody can play their music and be good. They're that great.
OMG the biiiiitls! as they said it in JOLLY GOOD ENGLAND! my dad got me HOOKED 2 their music as i am DEFINITELY not from the beatles era...... i lov this song!!!
This is what street people do - they do some bad acid and trip all day begging for money to do some more - so this is what we call them " Day Trippers ".
in a documentary,Paul McCartney said it was about his first and last time taking LSD, it was peer pressure from his friends and band mates... usually the "trip" lasted a whole day. "it took me a long time to find out, and i found out.." meaning he was afaid, peer pressure, tried it and didn't like it.
A day tripper takes a one day trip, e.g. goes out to the country for the day, and comes back home by evening. In this case it was a metaphor for a one night stand. It wasn't the 70's yet.
