Like A Rolling Stone (Live 1972)

Lyrics

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kidding you

He definitely forgot the lyrics but that's cool his lyrics are really hard to remember that's one reason I don't like doing covers of his songs but I F**KING LOVE BOB DYLAN

Totally agree. Done the same thing with positively 4th street. ( think I got the title right)

I've always thought it was funny how people use songs to direct a guilt trip toward someone else. Usually the guilt is their own. I also think Bob didn't write this song thinking everybody would be stoned out of their gourds and singing along. I'm sure it was directed to someone at the time it was written, but I guess popular songs take on new meanings when the masses get a hold of em. Who knows, maybe he was thinkin of Papa Was A Rolling Stone or The Rolling Stones. Laced with sarcasm one

Neil, hope you brought enough to share. See you at 4:20.

"When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose". Maybe some on here have never been there. Lost out on that tough lesson...

Fussy fussy fussy.
Dylan sings. He hid for years. He does very little now. Treasure what he has done. Listen to the lyrics of this song. Think about the times when he first sung it. Screw that fussines. Enjoy. Bob won't live forever....

the greatest song of our generation - no limit and that means somrthing
TO ME !!!!!!!!

So who cares if he's mumbling, getting to listen to Dylan AND The Band is a treat indeed!!!
Report as inappropriate
Maybe he just gets tired of doing that song over and over-but he's allowed to mumble and change the lyrics if he wants because it's his song! I've heard Van Morrison mumble some of his as well...
Report as inappropriate
It's Dylan - he's allowed to mumble, because, oh yeah, he's F'n Dylan!!!

Do you consider this a "cover"? Is Dylan singing?

i didn't hear anything resembling mumbling except in your comments.
Report as inappropriate
It sure sounds like he forgets some of the lines and tries to mumble through them...but it seems unlikely that Bob Dylan is going to forget the lines to Like a Rolling Stone.

So is it just me or does Dylan just start mumbling about 1/3 of the way through?
