He takes me to the era when this music was refined and glorified: The Mogul reign in North India. I feel like I'm in the sublime atmosphere of a devoted king's court where dance and music are viewed as Divine. the tabla is not overly ornamental and lends itself to the simple but intricate fluidity of Bade's voice. Ancient, traditional, timeless.

This artist is incorrectly labeled. I have this fine CD in my collection. The CD has recordings by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, his son Munawar Ali Kahn, and his grandson Raza Ali Khan. the latter is the performer in this selection, raga Khori Kalyan. I don't think this would change its Pandora characterist i c s because the classical vocal forms are about the same for all three artists.
