I had the opportunity to see Arlo and Pete on his Historic Garbage Trail tour at his headlining performance at Chattanooga's Riverbend Festival. At the time, I was picking up trash myself on behalf of the local authorities, and was delighted to work my way up to the stage on which they were performing and get both their autographs on, of all things, a piece of garbage -- A Bojangle's Chicken coupon. Truly God has a sense of humor, and truly i have a love for Arlo, his dad, and This Land.
Someone gave me a ticket to an Arlo concert at Carnegie Hall. I was up in the nose bleed seats but in Carnegie you could hear perfectly. When he got to that part about that's not what I came here to talk about, I came to talk about the draft the hall erupted with an incredible noise. It was full of draft threatened guys, me included, at the height of Nixon's Vietnam war. An incredible moment I have never forgotten.
One of his best; although he could have done nicely without Seeger!

His style of music will live for ever but with the help of his followers who love his music, his disease will die. Huntingtons Disease is a sad and lonely killer. Support the Huntingtons Disease Socity and you support him and his wonderful wife who started it find a cure.. Much love and luck to all who have a family member who has Huntingtons..

Simply the best of the true folk tradition. Unlike Pete Seeger, Guthrie never stole the music of others
Arlo is great, a chip of the old mans block. he dont want a pickel, just wants to ride on his motorcycle, like you just squashed a cop.........

First heard Arlo perform while incarcerated in Sandstone Federal Prison in 1969. He wasn`t shown much respect with his long hair. Then he started singing and that all changed. I specifically remember the "pickle song". It was a memorable event at a time when I was away from my wife and daughter. Arlo provided a bright spot.
