this is a silly conversation . anyone who plays music will recognize this is very (exceedingly ) common chord progression, that's probably been used 100 times, if not 1000, complete with the waltz timing. give each their due. both songs are interesting and personal in their own way. play on i say.
I think his music is great!! Everyone is ripping on his Sinner's Sonnet, but doesn't all music sound the same these days? And who else is doing a Jack Johnson-soun d i n g sound these days? Honey is insanely creative and witty. Love it. This was my 2011 summer album.
Sinner's Sonnet is a rip off, but I personally think it's an improvement. This sounds so much better, but copyright is copyright; not cool stealing music.

i'm just gonna clear the origins of sinner's sonnet up. this song was written by matt lewis, andrew's cowriter, who never even heard of bright eyes until someone told us about how similar it sounded to landlocked blues. it wasn't on purpose and we're sorry if you think we stole it or something but you can believe what you want to. if you can, try and just enjoy it for what it is and let us know what you think of all the other songs too. thanks for listening and the input
