Seattle-based Amber Pacific first formed in 2002 as Follow Through while the guys were still juniors in high school. Hopeless Records heard some of the band's initial recordings and signed them up, and the combo made its debut as Amber Pacific in May 2004 with the Fading Days EP. The sound was urgent, slick punk-pop in the vein of Story of the Year, the Audition, and the All-American Rejects. Amber Pacific worked hard in the summer that followed, honing their skills as a touring band with dates on the Warped Tour. Following that they reentered the studio, and the full-length The Possibility and the Promise appeared just about a year after the original EP. By this point the band's lineup included vocalist Matt Young, guitarists Will Nutter and Justin Westcott, drummer Dango, and bassist Greg Strong. Touring continued, including another summer spent on Warped, though Westcott left sometime along the way. Takeover Records owner and ex-Yellowcard member Ben Harper joined the gang in summer 2006 as their touring second guitarist, and though he was announced to be a permanent addition that October, he'd moved on by the year's end. The foursome continued on ahead, however, and in May 2007 their sophomore album, Truth in Sincerity, was released. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
Eh... I like it. My sister actually introduced me to this band some years ago with The Possibility, et al, and I've been deeply in like with them ever since. It's not the best, but it is a solidly good sound.
i saw these guys in tallahassee last week, feggin' awsome! i love the new album and song "hate". hearing loss, extreme headbanging, good friends, and the best band i've heard in years! have fun touring! hope to see these guys again and maybe get another autograph!!
These guys hold a special place for me - just got my first car back in '04 when all they had was the "Fading Days" E.P. I heard "Thoughts Before Me" on my new XM radio and been a fan since. Although I'm not as much a fan as I used to be, it was still pretty cool to watch them evolve as I went to college, graduated, and obtained a job over these last 6 years.

I've always been a huge fan of Amber Pacific, with Matt as singer and with Jesse as singer. Just because the singer changed doesn't mean the whole band changed. They're still a great band, and they're still improving no matter what happens in their personal lives.

If you don't like them, DON'T LISTEN then. Jesse and the rest of the guys don't deserve to get bashed cuz of Matt's leaving. Jesse is actually a great person, BETTER singer than Matt, and have more experience with music.
i love their music! and their new album is amazing!!

when i first got their newest album, "Virtues," i'd had no idea the lead singer left, so i was really surprised when the vocals didn't sound the same. but the new guy is really good too.
Mustanghockey is a f*g but this band def isn't gonna be as good with out their old lead singer Matt Young. He left the band to be a high school principal...crazy.
Amber Pacific's drummer, Dango, is off the charts. As a former drummer myself, I think his licks are just amazing. Easily one of the best skin pounders out there right now. Hopefully we'll see a new release in the near future.
they never broke up. the vocalist left the band, and their label only was a one EP, two LP deal, so not only did they have to find a new vocalist, but a new label.
but, they've found both and a new CD is due out early next year. :)

god, why do all the bands i like have to break up?!
The singer isn't that good at all.
His voice gets annoying.
And the music isn't that great either.
It seems its the same in every song.
So I think its a good thing this band broke up.
