I think it sounds like "Liberate" not deliberate. And I think that "liberate"- meaning to free herself?- fits in a better way, it's more meaningful because it's not quite expected, but the meaning would be clear: she needs a minute to free herself from the pressure he's putting on her. Or maybe it's both, deliberate ambiguity.
I think if nothing else she has to be credited with bringing an entirely different twist to pop-rock. Love her or hate her at least she moved something stagnant.

I like this song. I did notice an error in the lyrics, however. In the last phrase, she said "I need a moment to deliberate", not "I need a moment to liberate".
