Akala

Kingslee Daley had a lot of career options before settling on the music business. A former youth team defender for both Wimbledon and West Ham football clubs, Daley was a straight ‘A' student, an athlete, and -- at one point -- manager of a restaurant, and all before turning 25. But it was as part of the British rap and grime scene that Daley would make his biggest impression. Taking the name Akala (a Buddhist term meaning immovable), Daley released his first album, It's Not a Rumour in May of 2006. A critical success, the album won him the 2006 Mobo Award for Best Hip-Hop Artist, and scored him an opening slot on the UK leg of Christina Aguilera's 2006 tour. That isn't to say that the musical end was his only interest, however. As head of the label Illa State, Akala was also in the business of production, including mix tapes and videos. In 2007, Akala (It should be noted that Akala/Kingslee Daley was also the brother of Ms. Dynamite, so he probably did have a bit more knowledge than most as to how the scene worked.) released album number two, Freedon Lasso. The album was subsequently promoted by a number of live shows and touring. ~ Chris True, Rovi

Some of us know (far too few still really) far more NEED to become aware, & hearing what ultra intelligent artists like Akala are saying is part of a/the knowledge gain that we need more people to have. Also the music that accompanies his rhymes are some of the absolute best as well, listen long and you will find this out!

Akala is the best of the best, simply second to none no doubt. The only sad azz thing is that more people aren't aware of him & his top notch telling of the human condition & the pure evils of the big corporate new world order and their maneuvering for achieving final control over the world populace. If your a fan, spread the word, about Akala & the topics he raps about!

Just when you think the human condition has siloed its self in ignorance. People verbalize the actions and feeling which discern the human condition and real human beings. We all don't deserve the title of human BEINGS most of us have only human been and could care less to act. Much respect Akaka. Keep doing you, we cherish you voice bring light to dark matters.

this guy is trying and at times achieves some beauty. Other times he sounds a bit like a struggling teen. But at least he's trying. I appreciate it.
